The Bear is in awe of the once-a-year “Tribute in Light” that memorializes the horrific events of September 11th, 2001. It’s a remarkable testimony to the resilience of the human spirit.
How is it that in remembrance of such an awful day — when the two towers that etched the New York skyline were brought down by a band of suicidal criminals, and 2,752 souls were taken from us — how did we come up with this extraordinarily beautiful way to remember?
For one night each year, we replace darkness with light. We replace the material with the ethereal. We replace despair with hope. We lift our eyes to the stars. We were brought low, and now we shine.
